Bayreuth Festival's 'Parsifal' to Feature Elīna Garanča

Deutsche Grammophon has confirmed its ongoing role as the global media partner for the Bayreuth Festival.

Having introduced its revolutionary classical music platform, STAGE+, in 2022, the label successfully hosted the international premiere screenings of Valentin Schwarz's thought-provoking new production of "Der Ring des Nibelungen."

The forthcoming collaboration will kick off with Jay Scheib's highly anticipated "Parsifal" from the Festspielhaus, streamed on STAGE+ one day after its live premiere. Virtual festival attendees will be able to experience the opera on STAGE+ on July 26, 2023, and on July 27 in the U.S.

The stellar cast features Elīna Garanča as Kundry and tenor Andreas Schager in the title role, with Pablo Heras-Casado leading the production as the conductor.

This marks the latest joint effort between Bayreuth and DG, who have previously partnered on Tobias Kratzer's "Tannhäuser (2019)" and Dmitri Tcherniakov's "Der fliegende Holländer (2021)."
