CAST CHANGES: Deutsche Oper Berlin ‘Thaïs’ Performances

According to the company's official website, the Deutsche Oper Berlin has announced a major cast change for its upcoming performances of “Thaïs,” with Andrei Danilov replacing the previously scheduled tenor Paolo Fanale in the role of Nicias. This change includes both concert performances of the Massenet opera on April 8 and April 12.

Danilov will join a cast that includes Etienne Dupuis, Nicole Car, Derek Welton, Thomas Lehman, Matthew Cossack, Flurina Stucki, Karis Tucker, Anna Buslidze, Patrick Guetti, Timothy Newton, Michael Kim and Ya-Chung Huang.

Nicholas Carter will conduct from the pit.

Fanale is set to take on “La Clemenza di Tito” in Barcelona, “Così fan tutte” in Berlin, “Giovanna d’Arco” in Bilbao,” and “Leonora” in Bonn.
