German opera houses and theaters in the state of Hessen have announced their closure until April 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Germany has now extended their lockdown until the end of January in hopes of some recovery. Some of these include: The Hessische Staatstheater Darmstadt, Hessische Staatstheater Kassel and Hessische Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Hessische Landestheater Marburg and the Stadttheater Gießen.
