The Opéra National de Paris has just issued yet another warning of cancellations, this time, for possible performances running from January 17, 2020 to January 22, 2020. The company has advised ticket holders to regularly check its website for further notices and future cancellations.
Three major productions are possibly affected including “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” which is set to be performed on January 17, 2020, the opening night performance of the ballet “L’Après-midi d’un faune” and Ravel’s opera “L’Enfant et les Sortilèges” that is on the program for January 18, 2020 and January 20, 2020. The final production that will probably be affected is the opening night of Offenbach’s “Les Contes D’Hoffmann,” which is set to open January 21, 2020.
The cancellations have been affecting the arts throughout France, in particular, the Opéra National de Paris, due to the national strike facing the country.
