Opera San José has an exciting treat in store for opera enthusiasts this November! They are all set to captivate audiences with their production of Rossini's timeless classic, "The Barber of Seville," subtitled as "The Useless Precaution."
Opera San José has brought together an incredibly talented team to create an immersive and visually stunning production. The brilliant scenery and costumes have been thoughtfully designed by none other than the renowned Adrian Linford. Under the masterful direction of Stephen Lawless, the opera is sure to unfold with impeccable storytelling and dramatic flair, capturing the essence of Rossini's beloved masterpiece.
The cast is brimming with exceptional vocal talent, ensuring a spellbinding performance. The esteemed bass-baritone Dale Travis will grace the stage as the cunning Dr. Bartolo, adding depth and richness to the character. Opposite him, the charismatic baritone Ricardo José Rivera will take on the role of Figaro, the cunning and resourceful barber with a plan up his sleeve. The role of Rosina, the young and spirited ingenue, will be portrayed by the remarkable mezzo-soprano Nikola Printz.
Completing this stellar lineup, the charming tenor Joshua Sanders will embody the role of Count Almaviva, an ardent suitor, captivating hearts with his passionate vocals and compelling stage presence.
