The Metropolitan Opera Presents, 'Kristin Chenoweth: Christmas at the Met'

Emmy and Tony Award–winner Kristin Chenoweth presents her second solo concert at the Met with a festive program highlighting selections from her newly released album Happiness is…Christmas!

On Monday, December 13, at 8:00pm ET, Emmy and Tony Award–winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth will ring in the holiday season at the Metropolitan Opera with a one-night-only concert, 'Kristin Chenoweth: Christmas at the Met.'

Ms. Chenoweth, celebrated for her performances in hit Broadway musicals such as Wicked, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and On the Twentieth Century, as well as her solo Broadway shows My Love Letter to Broadway and For the Girls, previously performed a solo concert at the Met in 2007. For her second Met concert, the stage, television, and film star will sing Christmas songs from her new Concord Records album Happiness is…Christmas! In addition to holiday favorites, Ms. Chenoweth will sing a range of new songs and material for this special evening. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased at metopera.org, by phone at 212.362.6000 or in person at the Metropolitan Opera Box Office.

“When I first got the call and was offered this opportunity,” Ms. Chenoweth said, “my heart literally began to thump. It was a dream to play the Met, and to get another chance, after this long dormant wait for the arts to come back to life, is an opportunity I could not pass up. It also reunites me with my longtime friend and musical director Mary-Mitchell Campbell and also director Richard Jay-Alexander, as well as some of my favorite surprise musicians and fellow vocalists I tour with and love. I’m so excited and have already begun rehearsals, singing some of the most beautiful music ever written. The evening will surely bring tears to my eyes when I look out and see 4,000 people … and I will love every minute of it.”
