Dean Murphy Signs with Melos Opera for Worldwide Management



Melos Opera has secured a worldwide management contract with Dean Murphy, an accomplished American baritone. Currently a member of the ensemble at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Murphy is set to make several notable debuts this season. He will be taking on the roles of Silvio in "I Pagliacci," Heerufer in "Lohengrin," and Prince Yeletsky in a new production of "Pique Dame." Additionally, he will be making his debut in Ireland at the Blackwater Valley Music Festival, portraying Achilla in "Giulio Cesare."


Murphy's impressive resume includes performances with esteemed organizations such as Opéra National de Lorraine, Opéra de Dijon, Oper Vlaanderen, and Müpa Budapest, all conducted by notable maestro Marc Albrecht, among others. Notably, Murphy has been a finalist in prestigious competitions such as the Moniuszko Competition and the Tenor Viñas Competition.

Educationally, Murphy holds a Master of Music degree from Yale School of Music and a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from The Hartt School of Music.
