Teatro Verdi di Pisa's New Season

The 2023-24 season at Teatro Verdi di Pisa is set to be an extraordinary showcase of opera, featuring a lineup of five captivating productions, including four new creations that promise to captivate audiences.

Kicking off the season is a new production of Rossini's beloved masterpiece, "Il Barbiere di Siviglia," under the direction of Luigi De Angelis. The stellar cast, led by Chiara Amarù, Gurgen Baveyan, Dave Monaco, Arutro Espinosa, and Roberto Abbondanza, will bring this comedic gem to life. Guiding the orchestra with finesse will be Francesco Pasqualetti.

Dates of Performances: October 27 & 29, 2023

Following that, Teatro Verdi Pisa will present Puccini's romantic opera, "La Rondine," in an enchanting new production helmed by Paul Emile Fourny. The cast will be led by Claudia Pavone, Maria Laura Iacobellis, Matteo Falcier, Vassily Solodkyy, and Fernando Cisneros, while the talented Valerio Galli conducts the musical ensemble.

Dates of Performances: December 1 & 3, 2023

A momentous occasion awaits opera enthusiasts as Monteverdi's "L'incoronazione di Poppea" returns to the Pisa stage after a hiatus of 30 years. This eagerly anticipated production, under the esteemed direction of Pierluigi Pizzi, will feature a captivating cast including Roberta Mameli, Federico Fiorio, Enrico Torre, and José Maria Lo Monaco. Guiding the Orchestra Monteverdi Festival - Cremona Antiqua with precision will be Antonio Greco.

Dates of Performances: January 12 & 14, 2024

Teatro Verdi Pisa continues its season with Puccini's timeless masterpiece, "La bohème," under the baton of conductor Nicola Paszkoski. The production boasts a talented ensemble, with Vittoria Magnarello taking on the role of Mimì, Alessia Pintossi as Musetta, Christian Federici as Marcello, and Alessandro Scotto di Luzio as Rodolfo.

Dates of Performances: February 2 & 4, 2024

Bringing the season to a grand finale, Teatro Verdi Pisa presents Mozart's delightful opera, "Così fan tutte," in an exciting new production by Stefano Vizioli. Leading the cast is the talented Maria Mudryak, joined by Lilly Jørstad, Jiri Rajinis, Francesca Cuccuzza, Emanuele Cordaro, and Antonio Mandrillo, with musical direction ensuring harmony under the baton.
